Looking for a relaxing, stress-free break, or activity filled family fun, whatever your style of holiday we are here for you.
Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, The Kilbirnie Hotel facilities include two pools, a sauna, fitness suite and a secluded sun terrace, where you can relax in the sunshine. We have an area to rinse off your surfboards and a dedicated secure storage room for boards and bikes too.
Our bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, smart-TVs, USB ports & tea and coffee making facilities. We use fresh, local produce and locally caught seafood where possible, creating exciting yet satisfying cuisine, served in our beautiful flagship restaurant overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
We love to cater for families and have 13 customised rooms to suit groups of all sizes. The hotel is ideally situated to keep everyone occupied. Take a walk into town and enjoy the amusement arcades, visit the Sea Life Centre or Pirates Quest. With 7 beaches nearby you can spend a day building sandcastles and playing in the sea or visit one of the several theme parks.
History of the Hotel
The Kilbirnie was built in the late 1930’s as one of the first hotels on Narrowcliff in Newquay. The name ‘Kilbirnie’ has never changed and is believed to originate from the Scottish hometown of the first owners. Originally a small, family run establishment, it has seen several transformations over the years; new ownership and recent investment has seen the hotel outlast many of its original neighbours.
Today, we offer a bright contemporary style, whilst retaining the warm, friendly atmosphere that has inspired returning guests to include our hotel in the holiday memories of many generations of their family. Our most famous guest, King Charles III, then HRH The Prince of Wales, attended a ‘Cornwall Duchy Luncheon’ here in 1972.
Kilbirnie Hotel is not just a building, to us she is an ‘Old Lady’, still elegant and welcoming after all these years. She is our happy place, and our whole team enjoy sharing her with our guests.
Careers
Our amazing team take pride in our hotel, and love to share ‘the Old Lady’ with our guests. If you’re interested in joining the team, there can be a variety of roles available. Please enquire with reception.
Pet friendly
We are a pet friendly hotel and have dedicated rooms to accommodate you. Dogs are permitted in the Bar and Lounge but not Pool areas or the Restaurant. If you prefer to have them with you at breakfast, we can arrange to serve in the Bar area. All we ask is that you take your four-legged friend on days out and don’t leave them in the room unattended. Pet charge is £10 per night.
